Comic Fanart

As everyone should know by now, I'm a big Marvel Comic fan. I didn't read any comics up until last summer, though, so I have to catch up a lot. Especially the Deadpool comics are my favourite ones, but I also enjoy the Ultimate Spider-Man series a lot. Before this, I just read Manga, so as you can see, this influenced my drawing style a lot.

I love to draw fanart as soon as I have trouble with my own stuff, which is also the reason that there is a loooot fanart made by me. Sometimes Megamind (DreamWorks) appears here, too, because it is my favourite movie and I'm quiet active in the Megamind Livejournal community.(yuui888)

Spider-Man
Ultimate Spider-Man Comics (Marvel)

When I was a child, I used to watch the Spider-Man-trickseries on TV with my brother. When I started reading Super-Man-comics because I wanted to see if there are connections to Megamind, I thoght it would be fun to read a Spider-Man comic, too, then. Never had I imagined I'd become such a comic-nerd at this time. Soon I spent whole nights reading Ultimate Spider-Man and was so sad when it ended, it was kinda embarassing. This was a huge influence on my further deveopment as an artist.

'Blind Al'
Deadpool Comics (Marvel)

This pic is one of my favourite fanarts so far, although I made the lines a lot too thin accidentally. Blind Al was a roommate/prisonor/family member for Deadpool in Vol I, until he gave her permission to move out. The episodes with her were some of the funniest comics I read so far. As the name says, Blind Al is blind, and so she doesn't know about her cute outfits. But anyway, you won't ever see such a badass woman with a pink flower dress!

Bamf
X-Men Comics (Marvel)

As soon as I created my artist account on Google+, I had to find out I don't have any proper Avatar. I used Blind Al at first, but I didn't really identify myself with an old, blind, former assassin lady. That's when I remembered this little cute X-Men episode where these tiny creatures appeared. They are Mini-Nightcrawlers, originally  invented for a bedtime story, called 'Bamf's' because of the sound effect Nightcrawler does when he's teleporting. Rather small, kind of dark skinned creatures, whose original character's origin lies in Germany - perfect choice for an Avatar for me.

Nightcrawler and Megamind
X-Men Comics (Marvel), Megamind (DreamWorks)

This one is still rather new. Well, maybe I'm the only one, but I think just in case Megamind somehow got into the Marvel Universe, it would be interesting to see these two interact with each other. Megamind would assume Nightcrawler is an alien like him, and Nightcrawler would assume Megamind is a mutant. I asked around if it wouldn't be fun to draw a 'Team Blue' - picture, just like Spider-Man, Deadpool and DareDevil as Team Red, and got a lot of fun response. The cookie-monster nearly made it, but in the end we agreed on Stitch, because he's alien and a little evil just like Megamind - and when mixing up the franchises anyway, why not like a boss?

Team Blue Assemble!
Nightcrawler - X-Men-Comics (Marvel), Stitch - Lilo&Stitch (Disney),
 Megamind (DreamWorks), Deadpool (Marvel)

What a Team-Up, right? A small hint, though: There's a spy amongst Team Blue! As I said, I love the Deadpool comics, especially the twisted minded main character. I thought it would be fun to let him sneak into the picture, because it had been way to long since I last drew him. Megaminds outfit is white because I wanted to point out that he is one of the good guys now. Otherwise I don't think Nightcrawler would Team-Up with him. Drawing Stitch was the most difficult task here. It took me hours to decide which way to draw him.

Bamf#2
X-Men-Comics (Marvel)

This little guy is a Re-Draw of my former Bamf-Avatar. I'm quite happy how the effect of the smoke turned out. The past few weeks I spent a lot of time at G+ and because people were used to my Bamf-Avatar, I didn't want to confuse them by chosing something utterly different. I'm glad I inserted the little stripes on his costume, though it was a task to insert details and not to overload the picture with them.
